Farm to Market Views

6x8" Acrylic on canvas panel
Just past the exit to Engle, TX, I see a big traditional style red barn my way out to the ranch on FM2238.  I added a few modifications to help with the design, but you'd recognize the barn, trees and fenced in area right away.

Waipu Cove

6x8" Acrylic on canvas panel
This scene of Waipu Cove in New Zealand, was painted in an online workshop on how to paint more loosely.  It was also timely, because I was supposed to be aboard the Carnival Triumph ship destined for the Caribbean. That cancelled and now has waste running over the decks (yuck). I needed something clean, loose and beechy.

Fer Rent, Purty Views

6x8" Acrylic on canvas panel (sold)

Every time I turn onto Gebert Dr in Muldoon, TX, I see the most patched up, dilapidated, rickety barn, but it has a million-dollar view.  As an artist, I had to put a "Fer Rent" sign on it.

Texas Country Highways

6x8" Acrylic on canvas panel
(sold)
When leaving Weimar, TX down old Holman Highway, this view is unmistakable.  Seeing the huge oak, windy road and the Texas Highway sign...it composed itself.  I just painted. The reference picture is here.

Ol' Muldoon, TX Church

6x8" Acrylic on canvas panel
(sold)
This is an old church in Muldoon, TX, which had it's peak population of 200 in the 1940's. This is part of the remnants of the booming metropolis.  Still, the steeple stands tall and almost straight.

Sunset at Tyler State Park

8x6" Acrylics on canvas panel
(sold)
Here's another one from a picture I took a few years back kayaking at Tyler State Park and stashed into the "must paint" folder. It was very tempting to tighten up and try to blend the clouds, but then I stepped back and it just had a crisp pop to it I didn't want to lose!

"Dozing Off"

6x8" Acrylic (sold)
I caught a picture of this little brown and white longhorn calf on my uncle's ranch last spring. It was just about to nod off near the fence when I drove by (Read more...).

"I O U Ranch"

6x8" Oil on canvas panel
(sold)
There's an old, crusty and absolutely cool, artsy mailbox down the road.  Had to paint it! You can read more in the blog post: here if you want to. There's no bluebonnets or red blankets now, but it just seemed right to add it in.
